Burnside Oregon Oaked Rye comes from Eastside Distilling in Portland, Oregon, and it is the first rye whiskey finished in Quercus garryana, the native Oregon white oak, which the distillery describes as almost sponge-like from its fast winter growth, delivering intense oak flavor and high levels of vanillin. It is a blend of straight ryes and straight whiskeys of different ages, mashbills and distillation styles, bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof).

Eastside describes a herbaceous nose of cassia, coriander, toffee, orange peel, peach and allspice, a palate that opens with dried spice and bold peach, moves to a balance of malt, cassia and toffee, and finishes with mint and toasted oak. Spiced, sweet and full-bodied, it is a distinctly Portland rye for an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan, and a natural companion to the Burnside Oregon Oaked Bourbon.
