Noble Oak Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Noble Oak is a bourbon brand from Brain Brew Ventures, the blending and bottling company Doug Hall founded in 2012 in Newtown, Ohio, outside Cincinnati. Brain Brew doesn't distill its own whiskey; it sources mature bourbon and finishes it with its own WoodCraft process, and the Double Oak is where that technique shows most clearly. The straight bourbon is first aged in new charred American oak barrels, as every bourbon must be, then finished with sherry-seasoned European oak staves: the staves are heated and the whiskey is pressurized through them to force flavor from the wood into the spirit. It's bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), and every bottle sold plants a tree through Noble Oak's partnership with One Tree Planted. Noble Oak's own notes describe vibrant aromas of honey-drizzled cornbread and dried fruits meeting flavors of baked pie, cinnamon and nutmeg, closing with a gentle and warming finish.
