The Clover The Bobby Jones Collection Bourbon Whiskey

The Clover is the whiskey line of the Bobby Jones Collection, named for the golfer who completed the original Grand Slam in 1930 and who wore a four-leaf clover medallion from his mother in every match. The brand was built for golf clubs and resorts in 2018, went to retail in March 2020, and directs part of its proceeds to charitable work in Jones's name. The Clover does not distill; it buys single barrels, and this straight bourbon was distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, aged at least four years in new charred oak, then proofed to 46% ABV (92 proof), chill-filtered and bottled in Madison, North Carolina. Barrels are never blended together, and every bottle carries the number of the barrel it came from, so expect some variation from one label to the next; the initial run was 24,000 bottles. Breaking Bourbon's review of barrel D-007 found light toffee, gently charred oak, vanilla and a touch of leather on the nose, sweet corn, vanilla, oak and green peppercorn spice on a light palate, and a short, crisp finish of peppercorn, leather and light tobacco leaf with a flash of sugared vanilla.
